Portraits of Cultural Ancestors

Friday, 14 December 2018

In 2011, Joost Swarte made seven drawings for Gallery Champaka in Brussels, in which he displayed a number of his favourite book and film characters in combination with a means of transport.

Depicted were Jacques Tati, Groucho Marx, Audrey Hepburn, Buster Keaton, Le Corbusier, Gerrit Rietveld and Raymond Queneau.

Of these seven drawings, a portfolio was also made on a small size and with a limited color scheme, called ‘Trafic’.

Griffioen Grafiek has now made prints of the original large and colourful designs. And like in the series “The Style” again in two versions: limited giclées in size 60 x 60 cm. and posters in size 50 x 70 cm. For the posters, Joost Swarte also designed a new font for the titles of the prints.

And as an end-of-year promotion, they cost only € 135 and € 25 this month!
